Yes, Ayaka fits right in to the family! I already had the girls dressed when she
walked out of her room Sunday morning and everyone matched! (except Mommy, so
they asked me to go change so we would all be in pink...) Love my girls!

Ayaka brought some rice from Japan that was grown in her mother's friend's rice
patch. I was so impressed! Then, Jason pointed out to me that I got
Minnesota wild rice from my mother's friend too. I hadn't thought about it that
way! :) Ayaka had never seen wild rice and was totally amazed by it!

On Sunday night, Ayaka treated us by making dinner. She told us she was making
sushi.

Ayaka cooking for us...

We didn't understand the way she was making it. When we think of sushi, we think
of sushi rolls or sashimi. She said there are many ways to make sushi. For a
family, they most commonly make it this way...layered.

I wish I would have taken a picture of the whole finished dish. It was gorgeous!
But, the family completely devoured it! By the end of the meal, the girls had
two or three helpings each and all the food was gone! They discovered they liked
salmon and cabbage and they even loved "nodi" which we did NOT tell them was
actually seaweed. Jason and I were completely in shock at their love for the
dish. It was delicious!

Jase fell asleep at 5:30 pm and slept through until morning - about 14 hours.
But the rest of us enjoyed a fine Japanese meal with our new chopsticks! What a
treat!

I pulled out some tea party pieces for the kids to paint.

Daddy wanted to paint too!

Such fun! What wonderful artists!

Mommy even tried to paint one!

After painting, the kids all had baths while Mommy cooked some fresh, hot apple
crisp!
