The evening of Saturday, October 16, 2010, our Vine Ripe Kids group had a
geography / missionary fair. Many families did different displays on
different countries. We spent the last two weeks learning about Japan.

The committee made this AMAZING airplane cockpit so all the kids pretended to
"ride in an airplane" to visit each of 13 different countries.

It was REALLY cool!

There were even wings on the floor on each side...

The kids decided the wings needed to "fly."

The Shens did a presentation on Indonesia.

Sarah Lagares did a great presentation on China.

Then, we did our presentation on Japan.
First, Jason introduced Ayaka.

Our family

Jase pointed out where Japan was on a map.

Siri told about the Kimono and Yukata - traditional Japanese clothing.

Kira has learned to count to 10 in Japanese.

Jason told about entertaining Japanese executives from Oriental Land Company (OLC)
who own Tokyo Disneyland. He spent two weeks hosting them and made some
great Japanese friends!

Ayaka shows everyone the abacus.
I don't have enough room to describe how AMAZING Ayaka is at math!
Here in the United States, she would be qualified as a math GENIUS!

Concluding the presentation

The VanZwieten's talked about England.

The Thomas Family talked about their 14 years being missionaries in the Ukraine.

Learning a Ukranian version of "Jesus Loves Me"

The Howes spoke about Nigeria.
Mr. Howe has spent a GREAT deal of time over there with his ministry.

The St. Angelos talked about their missions trip to the Yucatan Peninsula in
Mexico this summer.

The Gobers talked about Costa Rica where they were missionaries for 16 years.

After the presentations, the children visited each display.
There were even more displays than presentations including countries like
Kenya, Madagascar, Lithuania, Canada, Scotland, and more.
Ayaka passed out stickers to put in the children's' passports.

Jason helped some of the younger kids.

The parents stood by their presentations to answer questions.

Ayaka and Eric had a good time chatting about their countries.

Ayaka teaches some of the girls about the abacus.

It was a most amazing and spectacular night!
We feel so incredibly blessed to be a part of Vine Ripe Kids!
